Managing platform connections

Connect, disconnect, and manage integrations with e-commerce platforms and services

Last updated: Feb 27, 2026

Platform connections give ConvertMate access to your data from services like Shopify, Google Search Console, and Google Analytics. You manage all connections from one central location.

Accessing connections

To view and manage your connections:

  1. Click Settings in the left sidebar
  2. Select Connections from the menu
  3. See all available platforms and your connection status
Manage connections

Connected platforms

The connections page shows:

Active connections - Platforms currently syncing data Available connections - Platforms you can connect Connection status - Whether each platform is syncing properly or has errors Last sync - When data was last updated from each platform Manual actions - Sync now, reconnect, or disconnect

Available platforms

ConvertMate supports these platforms:

E-commerce:
  • Shopify
  • BigCommerce
  • WooCommerce
  • Adobe Commerce (Magento)
  • TikTok Shop
Google services:
  • Google Search Console
  • Google Analytics 4
  • Google Ads
  • Google Merchant Center
  • Google My Business
Social platforms:
  • Meta (Facebook & Instagram)
  • TikTok for Business

Each connection uses secure OAuth or API key authentication.

Essential connections block

The dashboard now features an Essential connections block that keeps you honest about the three data sources every workspace needs: Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, and Google Ads. Shopify is no longer part of the essential checklist because most stores already connect it during onboarding.

What the block does:

  • Shows a checklist for GA4 and GSC with statuses like Connected, Needs configuration, or Not connected.
  • Provides direct Connect and Fix configuration buttons so you can jump into OAuth flows without hunting through settings.
  • Surfaces a yellow warning banner anywhere your Google data is missing or scoped to the wrong property, so AI agents don’t run with incomplete inputs.

> Tip: If you click the banner from any page, you land directly in the Connections screen with the affected platform pre-selected.

Connecting a platform

To add a new connection:

  1. Find the platform in the list
  2. Click Connect
  3. Follow the authorization process
  4. Wait for initial data sync
  5. Verify the connection shows as active
Detailed connection guide

Managing active connections

For each connected platform, you can:

View sync status - See when data was last synced and if any errors occurred. Connections with configuration gaps now show Needs configuration (amber) so you can fix missing scopes or permissions before agents run. Trigger manual sync - Click Sync now to refresh data immediately instead of waiting for automatic sync. View synced data - See what information ConvertMate has from this platform. Update credentials - Change API keys or refresh OAuth tokens if needed. Reconnect - If a connection breaks, re-authorize it without losing historical data. Disconnect - Remove the connection entirely.

Sync frequency

Different platforms sync at different intervals:

Real-time - E-commerce platforms use webhooks for instant updates when you change products Daily - Analytics and search data syncs once per day On-demand - Some data only syncs when an agent needs it

You can always trigger a manual sync regardless of the schedule.

Troubleshooting connections

Connection shows error

  • Check that you still have access to the platform
  • Verify you didn't revoke ConvertMate's permissions in the platform's settings
  • Try clicking Reconnect to refresh the connection
  • Check if the platform is experiencing downtime

Data not syncing

  • Click Sync now to trigger a manual sync
  • Verify the platform has the data you're expecting
  • Check that ConvertMate has necessary permissions
  • Review the sync log for specific error messages

Connection drops frequently

  • Your platform password might have changed
  • OAuth tokens might be expiring prematurely
  • Platform might have rate limits or API restrictions
  • Contact support@convertmate.io if reconnecting doesn't fix it

Some data missing after sync

  • Confirm all required permissions are granted
  • Check if the platform filters or limits API access
  • Try a Full resync to rebuild the data from scratch
  • Verify the data exists in the platform itself

Disconnecting platforms

To remove a connection:

  1. Find the platform in your connections list
  2. Click Disconnect
  3. Confirm you want to remove it

After disconnecting:

  • Data stops syncing immediately
  • Historical data stays in ConvertMate
  • Agents requiring that platform won't run
  • You can reconnect anytime

Reconnecting platforms

If a connection breaks or you disconnected by mistake:

  1. Find the platform
  2. Click Reconnect
  3. Go through the authorization process again
  4. ConvertMate resumes syncing

Your historical execution results and settings are preserved when you reconnect.

Security and permissions

What we access:
  • Only data necessary for the agents you use
  • Read-only access for most platforms
  • Write access only when you explicitly apply recommendations
What we don't access:
  • Payment information or credit card data
  • Customer passwords
  • Private messages or internal notes
  • Data from platforms you haven't connected
How we protect it:
  • All connections use encrypted communication (TLS 1.3)
  • OAuth tokens stored securely and encrypted
  • Regular security audits
  • GDPR and CCPA compliant
