Before you start
Make sure you have:
- A verified Google Business Profile for your business
- Owner or Manager access to the business profile
- A physical business location or service area
- An active ConvertMate account

Connection steps
Step 1: Go to connections
- Log in to your ConvertMate account
- Click Settings in the left sidebar
- Select Connections from the settings menu
- Find Google My Business in the list of available platforms
Step 2: Start OAuth authorization
- Click Connect next to Google My Business
- You'll be redirected to Google's authorization page at accounts.google.com
- Select the Google account that manages your Business Profile
- If you're already logged into Google, you'll see the authorization screen immediately
Step 3: Grant permissions
Google will ask to grant ConvertMate permission to:
- Manage your Business Profile - Read and update business information
- Read and reply to reviews - Access customer reviews and respond
- View insights - See how customers find and interact with your listing
- Manage posts - Create and manage business posts
These permissions allow ConvertMate to optimize your profile and provide comprehensive local SEO analysis.
Click Allow to grant permissions.
Step 4: Select your business location
After authorization:
- ConvertMate redirects you back with a list of your business locations
- If you manage multiple locations, select which one(s) to connect
- You'll see the business name, address, and verification status
- Click Connect location
Step 5: Wait for initial sync
After selecting your location:
- ConvertMate begins syncing your Business Profile data
- Initial sync takes 5-10 minutes
- You'll see a progress indicator

After the initial connection:
Daily sync - ConvertMate syncs new Business Profile data every 24 hours to capture new reviews, insights, and customer actions. Historical data - The first sync pulls 90 days of historical insights data. Manual sync - You can trigger a manual sync anytime from Settings → Connections. Review monitoring - New reviews are detected daily and you receive alerts. Troubleshooting connection issues
No business locations available
If you don't see any locations after authorization:
- Verify you have Owner or Manager access to at least one location
- Check you used the correct Google account
- Ensure the business is verified in Google Business Profile
- Wait a few minutes after verification and try again
- Create a Business Profile first if you don't have one
Authorization failed
If Google authorization fails:
- Clear your browser cache and cookies
- Try in an incognito/private window
- Disable browser extensions temporarily
- Use a supported browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)
- Check that pop-ups aren't blocked
- Ensure you're granting all requested permissions
Reviews not syncing
If reviews aren't appearing:
- Wait 24 hours after connection for initial sync
- Verify the business has reviews in Google Maps
- Check that you have Manager or Owner access
- Try clicking Sync now in Settings → Connections
- Ensure reviews weren't deleted in Google
Insights data missing
If analytics data isn't syncing:
- Insights require at least 7 days of data in Google
- New businesses may not have insights yet
- Check that the business is verified and active
- Wait 48 hours after connection for data to populate
- Ensure the business gets search impressions
Can't publish updates
If changes aren't applying to Google:
- Verify the connection is still active
- Check that you have Owner or Manager permissions
- Ensure the business isn't suspended
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting
- Check Google Business Profile for any account warnings
Working with multiple locations
If you manage multiple business locations:
