The ConvertMate referral program rewards you for introducing others to the platform. When someone signs up using your referral link and becomes a paying customer, you earn credits or recurring commissions.
How referrals work
- You share your unique referral link with colleagues, clients, or your audience
- They click your link and sign up for ConvertMate
- When they upgrade to a paid plan, you receive your reward
- You can track referrals and earnings from your referrals dashboard
Your referral link works for anyone—friends, business associates, social media followers, or blog readers.
Referral rewards
Rewards depend on your current plan:
Free plan users
Per referral reward:- 50 credits when someone upgrades to a paid plan
- Maximum 200 credits per month from referrals
- Credits added to your account immediately
This lets you earn extra credits without spending money, perfect for extending your free plan usage.
Starter plan users
Per referral reward:- 250 credits per paid referral
- Plus 20% commission on their subscription for the first 3 months
- No monthly limit on referrals
Commission is paid as credits (not cash). For example, if someone subscribes to the Starter plan at $29/month, you receive:
- 250 bonus credits immediately
- 58 credits per month for 3 months (20% of $29 = $5.80 = ~58 credits)
Growth plan and above
Per referral reward:- 500 credits per paid referral
- Plus 30% commission for the first 6 months
- No limits on referrals
- Option for cash payout instead of credits (minimum $100)
For a Growth plan referral ($99/month), you receive:
- 500 bonus credits immediately
- 297 credits per month for 6 months (30% of $99 = $29.70 = ~297 credits)
Enterprise referrals
Special handling for Enterprise customers:
- Custom rewards negotiated with your account manager
- Potential for revenue sharing arrangements
- Annual contract commissions

Getting your referral link
To access your unique referral link:
- Go to Settings in the left sidebar
- Select Referrals from the menu
- Your referral link is displayed at the top
- Click Copy link to copy it to clipboard
Your link looks like: https://www.convertmate.io/signup?ref=your-unique-code
The referral code is tied to your account. Anyone who signs up through this link is tracked as your referral.
Sharing your link
Effective ways to share your referral link:
Direct outreach
Email contacts - Send personal recommendations to people who would benefit from ConvertMate. Business partners - Share with complementary service providers (designers, developers, agencies). Existing clients - Recommend to clients who need marketing automation. Industry peers - Share in professional groups or communities you're part of.Content marketing
Blog posts - Write about your ConvertMate experience with your link. Social media - Share tips or results you've achieved, include your link. YouTube videos - Create tutorials or reviews with your link in the description. Podcasts - Mention ConvertMate and include your link in show notes.Professional networks
LinkedIn - Share case studies or recommendations. Slack communities - Answer questions and suggest ConvertMate when relevant. Forums - Provide helpful advice and mention your referral link appropriately. Conferences - Share your link when networking at industry events.Always disclose that you'll receive a benefit when using referral links. This builds trust and is required in many jurisdictions.
Tracking referrals
Your referral dashboard shows:
Referral statistics:- Total clicks on your link
- Sign-ups through your link
- Free trial conversions
- Paying customers
- Total earnings
- When they signed up
- Which plan they chose
- Current status (trial, paid, churned)
- Credits or commission earned from each
- Referrals in trial period (not yet paid)
- Estimated earnings if they convert
- Credits added to your account
- Cash payouts (if applicable)
- Commission payments received
Check your dashboard regularly to see which referral methods work best.
When rewards are credited
Timing of rewards: Bonus credits - Added immediately when someone upgrades to a paid plan (not during trial). Commission credits - Added monthly on their billing anniversary for the duration of the commission period. Cash payouts - Processed within 30 days of request (Growth+ plans only, $100 minimum). Trial periods - You don't earn anything while someone is on a free trial. Rewards start when they become a paying customer.If a referral cancels before the commission period ends, future commission payments stop, but you keep what you've already earned.
Qualifying referrals
To receive rewards, referrals must:
Be new customers - Haven't had a ConvertMate account before. Existing customers who sign up again don't count. Use your link - Must click your referral link before signing up. You can't retroactively claim referrals. Upgrade to paid - Free plan users don't generate rewards. They must choose a paid subscription. Not be you - You can't refer yourself or create accounts for your own businesses. Use platform legitimately - Referrals who violate terms of service or commit fraud are disqualified.Referrals are automatically validated. If someone doesn't qualify, they won't appear in your referral count.
Cash payout option
For Growth plan users and above:
Requirements:- Minimum $100 in commissions
- Referrals must remain active paying customers
- PayPal or bank account for payment
- Tax information (W-9 for US users, W-8BEN for international)
- Go to Referrals dashboard
- Click Request payout
- Enter payout amount (must be ≥ $100)
- Confirm payment method
- Submit request
Payouts process within 30 days. You'll receive an email when payment is sent.
Credits vs. cash:- Credits have more value per dollar (can purchase more credits with cash than you'd earn in cash)
- Cash provides actual income
- Credits expire after 12 months if unused
- Cash is permanent once received
Most users prefer credits unless they need income.
Referral program rules
Prohibited activities: Spam - Don't send unsolicited emails or messages with your referral link. Trademark violations - Don't bid on "ConvertMate" in paid search ads. False claims - Don't misrepresent features, pricing, or capabilities. Incentive abuse - Don't offer kickbacks from your referral earnings to customers (splits your reward if you want, but can't promise or advertise this). Self-referrals - Don't create fake accounts or refer your own businesses.Violations result in referral rewards being revoked and potential account suspension.
Affiliate partnership
For serious affiliates who want to promote ConvertMate professionally:

Troubleshooting
Referral didn't track
- They might have clicked your link but signed up later from a different source
- Browser privacy settings or ad blockers might have prevented tracking
- They may have already had an account
- They might still be on a free trial (check "pending" section)
Rewards aren't showing
- Rewards only appear after upgrade to paid (not during trial)
- Commission is paid monthly, not immediately
- Check the "Payment history" tab for past rewards
- Refresh the page to see latest data
Can't request cash payout
- Verify you have at least $100 in commissions
- Ensure you're on Growth plan or higher
- Complete tax information forms
- Wait 30 days between payout requests
Referral disputed
- Occasionally, a referral might be flagged if ConvertMate suspects it doesn't meet the guidelines
- Contact support with details if you believe this is an error
- Provide evidence of legitimate referral if needed
