Connecting Meta (Facebook and Instagram) to ConvertMate gives AI agents access to your Facebook Page and Instagram Business Account so they can post content, analyze engagement metrics, and help you grow your social media presence.
Before you start
Make sure you have:
- A Facebook Page that you manage (not a personal profile)
- Admin access to the Facebook Page
- (Optional) Instagram Business Account linked to your Facebook Page
- An active ConvertMate account
You don't need technical knowledge. The connection uses Meta's secure OAuth system with page access tokens.
What you can do with this connection
Once connected, you can:
Content creation- Post text updates to your Facebook Page
- Upload and post images to Facebook
- Generate AI images and post them directly
- (Coming soon) Post to Instagram after app review approval
- View Facebook Page engagement metrics
- Analyze your recent Facebook posts
- Track likes, comments, shares, and total engagement
- View follower count and engagement rates

- Automate social media marketing tasks
Connection steps
Step 1: Go to connections
- Log in to your ConvertMate account
- Click Settings in the left sidebar
- Select Platform Connections from the settings menu
- Find Meta Business Manager in the list of available platforms
Step 2: Start the Meta authorization
- Click Connect next to Meta Business Manager
- You'll be redirected to Facebook's authorization page
- Log in with the Facebook account that manages your Page (if not already logged in)
Step 3: Grant permissions
Facebook will show the permissions ConvertMate needs:
What ConvertMate can access:- Your Facebook Pages (read and manage)
- Page posts and engagement data
- Page followers and insights
- Instagram Business Account (if linked to your Page)
- Post content to your selected Facebook Page
- Read public post information and engagement metrics
- Access basic page information (name, followers, category)
- Read Instagram media when available
ConvertMate cannot:
- Access your personal Facebook profile information
- Post to your personal timeline
- Access Facebook Messenger messages
- Access private customer data
- Make purchases or financial transactions
Review the permissions and click Continue as [Your Name].
Step 4: Select your Facebook Page
After authorization:
- ConvertMate displays all Facebook Pages you manage
- Select the Page you want to connect
- Click Save Selection
- The connection is now active
If you have an Instagram Business Account linked to your selected Facebook Page, it will be automatically detected and available for use.
What gets synced
ConvertMate accesses this data from your Meta Business account:
Facebook Page information
- Page name and ID
- Page category
- Follower count (fan count)
- Page profile picture
- Website URL
Facebook posts
- Recent posts (up to 100 most recent)
- Post content (text, images, links)
- Post creation timestamps
- Engagement data (likes, comments, shares)
- Post type (photo, video, link, status)
Instagram information (when available)
- Instagram Business Account ID
- Username and profile information
- Follower and following counts
- Recent media posts
- Media engagement data
How real-time posting works
When you run a posting agent:
- The agent prepares the content (text, image URL, etc.)
- Content is sent to Meta's Graph API using your page access token
- Facebook processes and publishes the post
- You receive confirmation with the post ID
- The post appears on your Facebook Page immediately
Posts created through ConvertMate appear the same as posts created directly on Facebook.

Once Meta Business Manager is connected, you can use these agents:

Post an existing image URL to your Facebook Page with a custom caption.
Facebook Image Post (8 credits)
Generate an AI image and post it directly to your Facebook Page with a caption.

Retrieve your 25 most recent Facebook posts with engagement metrics including:
- Likes, comments, and shares
- Total engagement calculations
- Post type identification
- Summary statistics
- Top performing post identification
Facebook Page Insights (5 credits)
Get comprehensive analytics for your Facebook Page over a specified time range (1-90 days):
- Total post engagements
- Total reactions (likes)
- Follower count
- Engagement rate
- Posts analyzed
Instagram Latest Media (3 credits)
View recent Instagram posts with engagement data when an Instagram Business Account is linked to your Facebook Page.
Instagram Account Insights (5 credits)
Access Instagram analytics when an Instagram Business Account is linked (requires app review for full functionality).

Cannot find my Facebook Page
If your Page doesn't appear:
- Verify you have Admin or Editor role on the Page
- Check that the Page is published (not unpublished)
- Make sure you're logged into the correct Facebook account
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting Meta Business Manager
Authorization failed or expired
If authorization fails:
- Clear your browser cache and cookies
- Try using an incognito or private browsing window
- Disable browser extensions temporarily
- Make sure your Facebook account is in good standing
- Verify you're not using a restricted or new Facebook account
If your connection stops working after initial setup:
- Meta access tokens expire after 60 days
- Go to Settings → Platform Connections
- Click Reconnect next to Meta Business Manager
- Re-authorize to get a fresh access token
Instagram account not detected
If Instagram isn't showing up:
- Verify you have an Instagram Business Account (not Personal Account)
- Make sure it's linked to your Facebook Page
- To link: Go to Facebook Page Settings → Instagram → Connect Account
- After linking, reconnect Meta Business Manager in ConvertMate
Post failed to publish
If a post fails:
- Check that your Facebook Page is published and active
- Verify the image URL is publicly accessible (for photo posts)
- Make sure the image meets Facebook's requirements (max 4MB, JPG/PNG)
- Ensure you haven't exceeded Facebook's API rate limits
- Check for Facebook service outages at status.facebook.com
Limited analytics data showing
Current limitation: ConvertMate's Facebook app is awaiting Facebook app review for advanced permissions. This means:
- Working now: Post engagement, follower counts, engagement rates
- Null until approval: Impressions, reach, page views, online fans
We calculate useful engagement metrics from your post data in the meantime. After Facebook approves our app review (typically 2-7 business days), we'll unlock the full Page Insights API automatically.
Credit costs for Meta agents
Each Meta Business Manager agent requires credits:
- Facebook Photo Post: 3 credits per post
- Facebook Image Post: 8 credits (includes AI image generation)
- Facebook Latest Posts: 3 credits per retrieval (up to 100 posts)
- Facebook Page Insights: 5 credits per analysis
- Instagram Latest Media: 3 credits per retrieval
- Instagram Account Insights: 5 credits per analysis
Credits are only deducted when the agent successfully completes. Failed operations don't consume credits.

To use Instagram features:
Step 1: Convert to Business Account (if needed)
If you have a personal Instagram account:
- Open Instagram app
- Go to Settings → Account → Switch to Professional Account
- Choose Business
- Complete the setup
Step 2: Link to Facebook Page
- Go to your Facebook Page
- Click Settings in the left menu
- Select Instagram from the menu
- Click Connect Account
- Log in to Instagram and authorize the connection
Step 3: Reconnect in ConvertMate
After linking Instagram to your Facebook Page:
- Go to ConvertMate Settings → Platform Connections
- Click Reconnect on Meta Business Manager
- Complete authorization again
- Instagram will now be detected

Disconnecting Meta Business Manager
If you need to disconnect:
- Go to Settings → Platform Connections
- Find Meta Business Manager in your connected platforms
- Click Disconnect
- Confirm you want to remove the connection
- Real-time posting stops working
- You can't run agents that require Meta access
- Historical data stays in ConvertMate
- You can reconnect anytime
- Go to facebook.com and log in
- Settings → Security and Login → Apps and Websites
- Find ConvertMate
- Click Remove
